    THE BOARD OF GOVERNOR OF THE KOTOKA TRUST FUND CONTINUED ITS TOUR OF GHANA WITH A RECENT VISIT TO THE VOLTA REGION WHERE THE CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD, MR JUSTICE NII AMAA OLLENNU FORMALLY LAUNCHED THE FUND.

    THE FUND, SET UP IN MEMORY OF GENERAL KOTOKA WHO WAS KILLED IN HELPING TO PUT DOWN THE ABORTIVE COUP IN APRIL, WAS INAUGURATED AT THE STATE HOUSE IN ACCRA AT THE BEGINNING OF LAST MONTH.

    THE CEREMONY WAS ATTENDED BY CHIEFS, WORKERS, SCHOOL CHILDREN AND VOLUNTARILY ORGANISATIONS. MEMBERS OF THE BOARD WHO ACCOMPANIED THE CHAIRMAN, WHERE THE AUDITOR GENERAL, MR AHENKORA-OSEI, THE PRINCIPLE SECRETARY OF THE MINISTRY OF THE INTERIOR, MR FIXON OWOO, MRS ADELINE AKUFFO-ADDO, AND MRS H.S. BANNERMAN.

    IN REPLY TO A WELCOME ADDRESS BY THE CHAIRMAN OF THE VOLTA REGIONAL COMMITTEE OF ADMINISTRATION, LIEUTENANT COLONEL DEJOE, MR JUSTICE OLLENNU SAID GHANIANS HAD A MORAL OBLIGATION TO DONATE TO THE FUND TO ENABLE THE GOVERNMENT TO PERPETUATE THE MEMORY OF THE LATE GENERAL AND THOSE WHO DIED WITH HIM TO SAVE GHANA TO SAVE GHANA.

    THE PRESIDENT OF THE VOLTA REGION HOUSE OF CHIEFS, TOGBE ADJA TEKPOR THE SIXTH, ALSO PAID TRIBUTE TO THE LATE GENERAL.

    AN AMOUNT OF NEARLY 2,000 NEW CEDIS (A CEDIS IS WORTH 10 SHILLINGS STERLING) WAS COLLECTED AT THE CEREMONY.
