    Members of the House, with Sir Roy Welensky, headed by the speaker enter the house for the last time...



    Outside the House the Governor General arrives, and inspects a guard of honour. The house then rises, and all the MP's leave headed by the Speaker, and P.M. The Gov. General departs. Inside the House the prorogation ceremony takes place. (BAD LIGHTING CONDITIONS).



    Outside the House after the ceremony.......Sir Roy Welensky has a cup of tea with members in the dining room of the Federal Assembly after the ceremony......and finally he leaves.....and the house.....empty, finished, with a few cleaners, and the Queen's portrait and empty throne...to be relegated to the archives.....

    Background: The Federation Government came to an end today, when the prorogation ceremony of the Federal Government finally wound up the business of the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland. In the Federal House in Salisbury today the Acting Governor General, Sir Humphrey Gibbs finally closed the Federal Government.
