The Cambodian Foreign Minister, Mr. Yem Sambaur, is visiting South Vietnam to restore the normal?
The Cambodian Foreign Minister, Mr. Yem Sambaur, is visiting South Vietnam to restore the normal relations between the two countries which were severed seven years ago. Soon after his arrival in Saigon on May 25th, he went to the Independence Palace to meet President Nguyen Van Thieu for talks on matters of common interest.
During his three-day visit, Mr. Yem Sambaur will also discuss the length of stay of South Vietnamese troops operating in Cambodia.
The United States has turned down his request for American troops to remain in Cambodia for the duration of the war and has stated they will be withdrawn by June 30, but the South Vietnamese have not set any deadline for the withdrawal of their force.
