    A three man Japanese Self Defense Forces Mission arrived at Tan-Shon-Nhut airport of Saigon by Air France Thursday for an inspection of the military situation in South Vietnam.

    The mission, the first military inspection group/ever sent by Japanese Government officially to the Republic of South Vietnam, was led by Mr. Hisao Ariyoshi, a Defense Agency civilian official. It included by Major General Roichi Tahata of Intelligence and Colonel Akio Takeda of Intelligence officer of the Air Defense.

    They were welcomed by Major General Tran-Ngoc-Tam, Chairman of the Free World Military Assistance Organisation in Vietnam, and Col. Hiromoto Fujii, Japanese Military Attache in Saigon, at the airport on their arrival, and also they were received by the Vietnamese military honour guards in front of the VIP room.

    The groups plans to stay in South Vietnam until Sept. 28th inspecting the military installations of the Vietnamese, American as well as Allied forces in Vietnam before they leave for Bangkok.
