The Secretary-General of the Organisation of African Unity, Mr. Nzo Ekangaki, arrived in Ouagadougou, the capital of Upper Volta on Wednesday night (5 December) for talks with the country's leaders.
Mr. Ekangaki's visit to the West African nation comes as part of a tour of member-nations he is at present making. Accompanying Mr. Ekangaki are M. Aiouf Papa Namadou, Executive Secretary of the O.A.U.'s Scientific Commission, and the organisation's director of Publicans, Mr. Bruce Robert.
The drought which has seriously affected Upper volta, as well as other nations bordering on the Sahara Desert, was high on the agenda when Mr. Ekangaki cent to the agriculture Ministry for talks on Thursday (6 December).
During his visit, the Secretary-General had meetings with both Prime Minister Gerard Kango Ouidraogo and Upper Volta's President General Sangoule Lamizana.
Mr. Ekangaki left Ouagadougou late on Thursday night, bound for Niamey and Bamako.
