Background: President Albert Bongo of Gabon has had long discussions with Mr Kearns of the Eximbank (Import-Export) of America. The substance of the talks wasn't made known, but it is believed the President asked the visiting banker to impress upon American investors that Gabon was willing to listen to any sound business ideas. One project the Gabonese leader certainly had in mind was a railroad which he hopes will eventually provide a vital link between Libreville and outlying centres.
