    THE CEREMONY WAS CONDUCTED IN NAMIREMBE CATHEDRAL BY THE ANGLICAN ARCHBISHOP OF UGANDA, DR.LESLIE BROWN.THERE THE 37-YEAR-OLD PRIME MINISTER WAS MARRIED BEFORE A CONGREGATION WHICH INCLUDED MINISTERS AND MEMBERS OF THE DIPLOMATIC CORPS.OUTSIDE, LOUDSPEAKERS RELAYED THE SERVICE TO THE LISTENING CROWDS.

    THE RECEPTION WAS HELD IN THE LUGOGO STADIUM HALL, WHERE THE MOST IMPORTANT 3,000 GUESTS TOASTED THE BRIDE AND GROOM IN CHAMPAGNE.THE STADIUM WAS DECORATED WITH UGANDA FLAGS AND THOUSANDS OF FRESH CARNATIONS FLOWN FROM KENYA.

    OTHER GUESTS, MANY OF WHOM CAME FROM VARIOUS REGIONS IN UGANDA, ENJOYED THE RECEPTION IN THE OPEN AIR ON THE STADIUM'S CRICKET FIELD.MORE THAN 60,000 BOTTLES OF BEER WERE CONSUMED AS WELL AS 1,500 BOTTLES OF CHAMPAGNE.THE COST OF THE WEDDING HAS BEEN ESTIMATED AT GBP25,000, BUT THE COST WILL BE BORNE IN PARTY BY DR.OBOTE, SAID A GOVERNMENT SPOKESMAN.
