More than 100...aircraft in the Paris Air Show at Le Bourget airport took part in a big flying display, June 3. Aircraft from many nationalities were seen being put through their paces by a large crowd.
The planes included both civil and military prototypes - and a selection of helicopters as well.
VISNEWS film shows the United States "hustler" supersonic bomber taking off on its last, ill-fated flight. It crashed shortly after taking off, killing the crew of three. They were not, however, the team that flew the plane 3,669 miles from New York to Paris in the record time of 3 hours, 19 minutes, 41 seconds.
