    Background: Film of gifts of rice and clothing being presented to Montangnards... Defense Department handout.

    Defense Department handout reads as follow;
    Brigadier General Rollen H. Anthis, Commander 2nd Air Division, with Party deliver rice and clothing, a personal gift from the Honourable Eugene Zuckert Secretary of the Air Force, to a Montangnard village in the central highland section of the Republic of Viet Nam.

    The Montangnard village welcomed General Anthis and the visiting party with a short recital rendered by their drum and cymbal band. After the traditional ceremony, the General presented the gifts to the Chief and the citizens on behalf of the Secretary of the Air Force.

    Secretary Zuckert during his December 1962 trip to the Republic of Viet Nam visited the Montangnard village and later sent the gift from the United States as a return gesture of the hospitality and friendship extended to him during his visit there.
