    NONE OF THE 22 DETAINED ISRAELI NATIONALS LEFT ALGIERS THIS MORNING DESPITE INFORMED ALGERIAN SOURCES WHICH SAID LAST NIGHT (FRIDAY) THAT THE DEPARTURE OF EIGHT ISRAELI WOMEN AND CHILDREN -- PASSENGERS ON THE EL AL ISRAELI AIRLINE FLIGHT WHICH WAS HI-JACKED ON TUESDAY -- WAS IMMINENT. THE EIGHT WERE EXPECTED TO INCLUDE THE THREE ISRAELI AIR HOSTESSES. TWO VICE-PRESIDENT OF THE INTERNATIONAL AIRLINE PILOTS' FEDERATION -- MR. JIM O'GRADY AND MR. OLA FORSBERG -- ARRIVED IN ALGIERS YESTERDAY TO INVESTIGATE SITUATION.

    MR. FORSBERG, A FINNISH AIRLINES PILOT, SAID THEY WOULD GO FULLY INTO THE SITUATION AND THE REPORT TO THE FEDERATION'S HEADQUARTERS IN LONDON.

    AIR ALGERIA EMPLOYS A LARGE NUMBER OF EUROPEAN PILOTS, THE MAJORITY OF WHOM ARE FRENCH. IF THE FEDERATION WERE TO TAKE THE VIEW THAT ALGERIA WAS DISCRIMINATING AGAINST AIR CREW WHOA RE THE VICTIMS OF PIRACY, IT COULD CALL ON ITS MEMBERS EMPLOYED BY AIR ALGERIA TO CEASE FLYING.

    THE ISRAELI DETAINEES WERE REPORTED TO BE IN GOOD HEALTH AND RELAXED.
