    President Jomo Kenyatta of Kenya on Thursday (November 11) laid the foundation stone for a new GBP600,000 sterling industrial estate at the township of Nakuru, about 90 miles (144 kilometres) northwest of Nairobi.

    The industrial complex, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of August next year, will comprise 20 factory premises for the manufacture of such necessary items to Kenya's economy as milk churns, steel window frames, leather goods and furniture.

    SYNOPSIS: Tribal dancers dressed in the colourful costumes of their region were on hand for the arrival of Kenyan President Jomo kenyatta on Thursday at the site for a new industrial estate at Nakuru -- about 90 miles northwest of Nairobi.

    More than ten thousand people living in the region attended the colourful ceremony.

    Among the guests at the ceremony were members of the diplomatic corps, including the ambassador from West Germany whose country has provided a large part of the finance for the building of the estate.

    President Kenyatta was there to lay the foundation stone of the six hundred thousand pounds sterling industrial complex.

    When completed the industrial complex will comprise twenty factories producing items ranging from milk churns to furniture.
