    THE CEREMONY TOOK PLACE IN THE BIEN HOA PROVINCE, 30 KILOMETRES NORTH OF SAIGON, ITS CAPITAL, ON NOVEMBER 22.

    BRIGADIER NGUYEN VAN THIEU, COMMANDER OF THE DIVISION WHICH SMASHED THE CONG HOA CAMP - STRONGHOLD OF TROOPS FAITHFUL TO THE LATE PRESIDENT NGO DINH DIEM DURING THE COUP, DELIVERED THE OPENING SPEECH.

    AT THE END OF THE SPEECH, MINISTER DINH LAID WREATHS ON AN UNKNOWN-SOLDIERS MONUMENT AND THEN PRESENTED THE HIGHEST MILITARY AWARD TO BRIGADIER NGUYEN VAN THIEU.

    AFTER SALUTING AT EACH OTHER, BRIGADIER NGUYEN PRESENTED MILITARY AWARDS TO ALL MAJORS AND COLONELS OF THE DIVISION.

    A MEDAL WAS ALSO PINNED ONTO THE DIVISION'S FLAG BY THE MINISTER.
