  • Description

Thousands of flag-waving French workers celebrated the victory of the Communists in South Vietnam at a demonstration outside the Paris Embassy of South Vietnam on Tuesday (6 May).

Chanting "Ho Chi Mihn, Vietnam has won", about 50,000 workers brought rush-hour traffic to a stop in the busy Paris street, Avenue d Villiers, as they marched to the embassy."
Vietnamese residents in Paris joined the demonstration with a rowdy burst of firecrackers followed by a dragon dance
Carrying red banners and flags, the workers were greeted by Mr. Din Bathi, the chief representative of the Viet Cong's Provisional Revolutionary Government (P.R.G.), when they reached the embassy. The P.R.G. took over the embassy when Saigon fell to the Communist-led troops
