    As the Tenth World Parachute Jumping Championships at Bled, Yugoslavia, went into its final stage on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (Sept. 16, 17, 18), 25 nations competed in the 1000 metre accuracy group jumps for men.

    Czechoslovakia placed first in the event, with 1.10 negative points. Yugoslavia, the host country, came in second with 2.45 negative points, and Canada placed third at minus 3.64.

    On Monday, Valyz Zakoletskaya of the Soviet Union won the 2,000 metres display jumps event for women. She clocked 2.46 for the series of three jumps. Lochimors of the United States was second with 27.63, and Kostina of the Soviet Union placed third with 28.76.

    The championships began on September 6 and ended on Saturday (September 19).
