BICKERS (NUMBER 5) LED FROM THE START OF THE RACE. ON THE DRY, DUSTY COURSE HE CREATED A CLOUD OF DUST THE OTHER RIDERS HAD TO FIND THEIR WAY THROUGH. HE WAS HARD PRESSED BY THE SWEDISH RIDERS ALL THROUGH THE RACE AND ABOUT THE HALF WAY MARK IT WAS KLAUSEN HALLMAN WHO WAS CLOSEST TO HIM.

IT WAS NOT FAR FROM THE FINISH THAT BICKERS FELL. HE MANAGED TO KEEP HIS MOTOR RUNNING BUT WAS UNABLE TO REMOUNT THE MOTORBIKE IN TIME. TIBBLING PASSED HIM AND TOOK THE HONOURS. DESPITE A BRILLIANT RACE DAVE BICKERS HAD TO BE SATISFIED WITH SECOND POSITION.
