    THE DAM AT JINJA SUPPLIES POWER TO MANY PARTS OF EAST AFRICA AND THE WATERS HAVE BEEN DIVERTED TO IRRIGATE SURROUNDING DISTRICTS.

    LATER, THE PRINCESS AND HER HUSBAND ACCEPTED GIFTS - A HARP FOR LORD SNOWDON AND A DRUM FOR THE PRINCESS. AFTERWARDS THERE WAS A DISPLAY AT TRIBAL DANCING. CONTORTIONISTS DANCED ON THEIR HANDS AND ANOTHER DEXTEROUS MAN DANCED BALANCING A LARGE DRUM ON HIS HEAD.

    WEARING A DRESS OF FLOWERED CHIFFON AND A LARGE SOMBRERO HAT, THE PRINCESS WATCHED THE DANCING FROM A SEAT NORMALLY RESERVED FOR THE TRIBAL RULER.
