THE CALL WAS ONE OF A BUSY ROUND OF ENGAGEMENTS MADE BY THE UNITED NATIONS LEADER BEFORE LEAVING FOR CAMEROUN'S TENTH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS.

    THE SECRETARY-GENERAL WAS VISITING GHANA AS PART OF A THREE-WEEK TOUR TO 10 WEST AFRICAN COUNTRIES.

    U THANT'S MEETING WITH BRIGADIER AFRICA TOOK PLACE AT THE CASTLE, OR GOVERNMENT HOUSE, AT OSU.

    ALSO PRESENT WERE THE DEPUTY CHAIRMAN OF THE PRESIDENTIAL COMMISSION, MR. JOHN HARLLEY, AND THE PRIME MINISTER, DR. KOFI BUSIA.

    THE UNITED NATIONS SECRETARY-GENERAL WAS ACCOMPANIED BY GHANA'S PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE AT THE UNITED NATIONS, MR. RICHARD AKWEI, AND GHANA'S MINISTER OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS, MR. VICTOR OWUSU.

    U THANT PRESENTED A UNITED NATIONS YEAR BOOK TO BRIGADIER AFRICA AND LATER SIGNED THE VISITORS' BOOK.
