    Japanese engineers recently have developed the world's smallest television set. It weighs less than two pounds and has a picture tube under two inches wide.

    The miniature set will sell for about GBP40 (approx. 100 U.S. dollars) and can be operated on either battery power or from an electricity outlet. It measures 4 1/4 inches long by 2 1/4 inches wide by 7 1/2 inches deep.

    Initially the tiny set, which has been designed for black and white reception only, will be sold in the United States and Canada.
