The Director-General of the World Muslim League, Shaikh Hussein Siraje, is making his first visit to Africa, and has just been to pay a courtesy call on President Amin of Uganda.

Background: The Director-General of the World Muslim League, Shaikh Hussein Siraje, is making his first visit to Africa, and has just been to pay a courtesy call on President Amin of Uganda. After spending four days in Uganda, he will go on to Zaire, Tanzania, the Malagasy Republic and the Comoro Islands.
The World Muslim League is based in Saudi Arabia, and exists to spread the Islamic faith and promote friendship between Muslim peoples. Shaikh Siraje said he had come to Uganda to get to knew the big Muslim community there, and find out what their problems were, and whether the League could help them.
President Amin took the opportunity of the Shaikh's visit to announced that Uganda and Saudi Arabia are to establish diplomatic relations and exchange Ambassadors.
