    The former Argentine President, Juan Peron, has just celebrated his 77th birthday -still determined to return to Argentina "at the right time".

    Sensor Peron turned 77 last Sunday (8 October) aimed a summit meeting of his followers called to fix a date for his return home after a 17-year exile. He was ousted in a military coup in 1955 after ruling his country for nine years. He has spent the last 12 years of hit exile at his luxury two-story mansion in the plus Madrid suburb of Puerta De Hierro.

    He attempted a return to his homeland in 1964 - but was turned back in Brazil. A comeback now would coincide with the run-up to general elections scheduled in Argentina for 25 March 1973, in which his supporters want him to run as a presidential candidate.

    Sensor Person has recently unveiled a ten-point plan for Argentina's future which he has dubbed a "plan for national reconstruction" and which has been presented to the Argentine Government and to military leaders.

    At his press conference, he told reporters: "Undoubtedly, I have to go to Argentina. But, I shall go to do something. If I am not going to do anything, I shall stay here in Madrid where I am very comfortable."

He has spent the past twelve years of his exile at his luxury two-story mansion in the plus Madrid suburb of Puerta De Hierro.

    At a recent news conference, Senor Person said that he would return to his country when the right moment came. He said: "Undoubtedly, I have to go to Argentina. But I shall go to do something ... if I am not going to do anything, I shall stay here in Madrid where I am very comfortable." A comeback now by the former President would coincide with the run-up to general elections scheduled for Argentina in March next year. It's in these elections that his supporters want him to run as a Presidential candidate.
