The Egyptian President, Mr. Anwar Sadat, returned to Cairo on Monday night (13 February) after completing his eight-nation tour to explain his Middle East peace strategy. During a short stopover in Rome he had talks with Pope Paul, President Giovanni Leone and the caretaker Prime Minister Mr. Giulio Andreotti. Earlier, in Paris, he held a news conference after talks with President Valery Giscard d'Estaing. He said that he was determined to persevere with his drive for peace with Israel and that he had been encouraged by his talks with United States President Jimmy Carter and European leaders.
