  • Description

Marshal Tito received a twenty-one gun salute when he arrived in Casablanca aboard his yacht "Galeb", Apr 1, on a five-day official visit to Morocco. Waiting to greet the Yugoslavian leader and his wife was King Hassan II. The Moroccan King introduced the visitors to Government Ministers and members of the diplomatic corps.

A traditional meal of welcome, dates and milk, was provided for the Marshal and his wife. Two small Yugoslav children presented them with flowers. After the speeches of welcome, the party inspected a guard of honour.

A special train was on hand to take them to Rabat, the Moroccan capital. Throughout the speeches, and when the train pulled out of the station, a large crowd of Moroccans cheered the two rulers.
