    MATCHING AN HISTORIC OCCASION, THE SALUTE WAS TAKEN BY CAPTAIN DICKENS, DESCENDANT OF CHARLES DICKENS.

    THE SHIPS HAD JUST COMPLETED MINESWEEPING EXERCISES WITH NATO, AND DOCKSIDE WORKERS AT CHATHAM HAD A CHANCE TO SEE SOME OF THE NEWEST SHIPS OF THE GERMAN NAVY.ALL TEN OF THE SHIPS HAVE BEEN BUILT SINCE THE WAR.
