IN HIS SOF INTERVIEW GENERAL ALEXANDER SAID HE FELT SAD, DISILLUSIONED AND STAGGERED BY THE DISMISSAL. HE WOULD NOT COMMENT ON THE FUTURE OF THE TROOPS IN GHANA UNDER NKRUMAH NOW ASSUMING THE TITLE OF SUPREME COMMANDER.

    HE WAS GIVEN FULL MILITARY HONOURS WHEN HE LEFT ACCRA: AND LATER A WARM TRIBUTE CAME FROM PRESIDENT NKRUMAH, WHO SAID THE GHANA ARMED FORCES OWED MUCH TO GENERAL ALEXANDER FOR HIS 20 MONTHS OF EXCELLENT WORK IN THEIR TRAINING AND ORGANISATION.
