    IT WAS AN IMPRESSIVE MARCH CALLED BY THE FRENCH UNION OF WAR VETERANS TO DRAW THE PUBLIC'S ATTENTION TO THE PLIGHT OF THEIR MEMBERS.MANY CARRIED WHITE CROSSES BEARING THE NAMES OF BATTLEFIELDS SINCE 1914.OTHERS CARRIED THEIR REGIMENTAL FLAGS.

    THE DEMONSTRATION WAS ORDERED BY THE UNION AFTER THE GOVERNMENT HAD TURNED DOWN SEVERAL PLEAS FOR INCREASED PENSIONS TO OFFSET THE INCREASED COST OF LIVING.

    FILM SHOWS THE PROTEST PARADE CONVERGING ON THE PLACE DE L'OPERA AND THE OFFICES OF THE FINANCE MINISTRY.IT WAS PEACEFUL AND LASTED TWO HOURS BEFORE THE VETERANS DISPERSED.
