The winter Sports Centre, London, has under one roof all that the novice or expert skier requires. There's a sport equipment department, travel agency and instruction school. Potential skiers can buy their skis and accessories, book their passage and hotel, and learn how to ski under expert supervision.
The instruction department is a large, carpeted room. In charge of tuition is Miss Elsbeth Williner, a Swiss skier. Learners are first given limbering up exercises and then taught the rudimentary movements, pushing themselves across the carpet with what appear to be broomsticks.
There's also a small theatre where instructional films are shown and the novices are able to pick-up tips by watching the experts speeding down the snow covered slopes. That's not all. When a "school" is over or when the skiers want a break, coffee, and sandwiches are obtainable from the bar.
