    HUNDREDS OF PLACARD-WAVING INDIAN DEMONSTRATORS MARCHED TO THE CHINESE EMBASSY IN DELHI MAY 25TH, PROTESTING AGAINST AN ARTICLE CONTAINED IN THE CHINESE GOVERNMENT JOURNAL 'PEAKING REVIEW' MAY 24TH QUESTIONING THE "TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY AND FRONTIERS OF INDIA IN A MANNER LIKELY TO PREJUDICE THE INTERESTS AND SAFETY OF INDIA".

    THE MARCHERS, MEMBERS OF THE PRAJA SOCIALIST PARTY, WERE PREVENTED FROM ENTERING THE EMBASSY BY STRONG FORCES OF POLICE. A PARTY OFFICIAL LATER PASTED AN OFFICIAL PROTEST OUTSIDE THE GATES AND DEMONSTRATORS PUBLICLY BURNED COPIES OF THE OFFENDING PUBLICATION. THE SAME DAY THE INDIAN GOVERNMENT ORDERED ALL COPIES OF THE JOURNAL TO BE CONFISCATED.

    IN A RECENT STATEMENT TO PARLIAMENT IN DELHI, MR. NEHRU, THE INDIAN PRIME MINISTER. SAID INDIA WOULD CONTINUE TO HOLD ON TO HER CHECKPOSTS ON THE CHINESE BORDER DESPITE "CHINESE THREATS". HE WAS MAKING A STATEMENT IN REPLY TO AN OPPOSITION ADJOURNMENT MOTION SEEKING TO DISCUSS A CHINESE DEMAND FOR AN INDIAN WITHDRAWAL FORM HER NEWLY SET UP CHECKPOSTS IN THE LADAK AREA OF KASHMIR.
