    Giftware products from all over the world are on show in London at the Third International Gifts Fair, which opened on Sunday at the Earls Court Exhibition Hall.

    The Fair is mounted by the British Gift industry, but is an international event. Principal exhibiting companies this year were from Austria, Holland, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Malt and Denmark.

    Last year visitors attended from 59 overseas countries.

    SYNOPSIS: At Earls Court Exhibition Hall, London, the Third International Gifts Fair got under way on Sunday. Giftware products were on show from all over the world, and the principal exhibitions came from Austria, Holland, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Malta and Denmark.

    This intriguing mobile novelty, the "Busy Birdie", comes from Denmark.

    These ornaments made in England look like porcelain, but they are actually made from a combination of shell and plastics.

    The British importers of Italian porcelain mounted a demonstration of making porcelain figurines, by sculptor, Germano Cortese.

    There were some ingenious gadgets, like this electric lighter.....

    And an elaborate ornamental telephone.

    And more Italian porcelain sculpture. This piece "The Last Supper" by Benno Merli was sold for more than 1400 Sterling (3,360 dollars).

    This glassware in the Venetian style was made in Blackpool, in the north of England. Visitors from 59 countries visited the London Gift Fair last year. This year even more buyers and other visitors are expected, before the fair closes on the 12th of August.
