    The King David, a pirate radio ship broadcasting under the name Radio Capitol, ran aground off the Dutch coast during a storm early today (Tuesday).

    The ship, which broadcasts light music to Holland and south-east England, sent out a distress call during the early hours after slipping anchor and drifting in heavy seas. With its engine out of action, the ship ran aground near Noordwiji, 25 miles (40 Kms) from Amsterdam.

    Four young Dutch girls and one British sailor came ashore from the ship. But the Dutch captain and Scottish radio engineer stayed aboard.

    A Dutch tug will attempt to refloat the King David as soon as the storms have abated. meanwhile, the ship was not thought to be in any immediate danger.
