  • Description

In Geneva, an ingenious home extension for flat dwellers is attracting the attention of passers by on the Chemin Sarrasin. It is also attracting the attention of the city authorities who say it is unsafe and against the building regulations. The extension is a bubble-like annex on the outside of block of flat. It is reached through a window. The annex is the work of M. Marcel Lachat who added the spare room to his home to accommodate the latest addition to his family. It is made of polyester and has built-in wardrobe for the baby's clothes.

    M. Lachat says he'll take down the bubble when he gets suitable accommodation for his family. He complains that in Geneva people are living alone in a five-room flats while he had only a studio for himself, his wife and their baby.
