The Rumanian leader arrived at Amsterdam's Royal Palace in an open carriage shortly after landing at Soesterberg Military Air Base near Utrecht.
He and his wife were greeted by Crown Prince Beatrix and her husband Prince Claus.
After inspecting an honour guard, President Ceausescu laid a wreath at the national war monument in Amsterdam.
SYNOPSIS: An open carriage carried Rumania's President Nicolae Ceausescu through the streets of Amsterdam on Tuesday as he began a three-day visit to the Netherlands.
President Ceausescu was greeted on his arrival at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam by Crown Princess Beatrix and her husband Prince Claus.
Soon after his arrival, the Rumanian leader and his wife, together with his party visited the Netherlands national war memorial.
A large wreath was placed on the memorial by President Ceausescu. During his visit to Netherlands, the Rumanian leader was expected to meet leading Dutch Parliamentarians and visit several factories.
President Ceausescu was also to meet with Queen Juliana and prince Bernard.
