    A TIME-BOMB EXPLOSION ROCKED THE HEADQUARTERS OF THE IRISH REPUBLIC'S RADIO AND TELEVISION BROADCASTING SYSTEM AT MONTROSE IN SOUTH DUBLIN EARLY TODAY (TUESDAY). A SKELETON NIGHT STAFF OF 14 FLED THE BUILDING WITHOUT INJURY.

    MILITARY BOMB EXPERTS WERE CALLED TO THE BUILDING AS IT WAS FEARED A SECOND BOMB MAY HAVE BEEN PLANTED. NONE WAS FOUND.

    THE BLAST WRECKED A STUDIO OF THE NINE-YEAR-OLD BUILDING AND SHATTERED 150-FEET (50 METRES) OF GLASS WALL. THE TRANSMITTING MAST WAS UNTOUCHED.

    THE EXPLOSION WAS HEARD FOR SEVERAL MILES.

    DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF IRISH BROADCASTING, MR. T.P. HARDIMAN, SAID TODAY (TUESDAY) HE COULD NOT IMAGINE WHAT COULD "LIE BEHIND SUCH AND OUTRAGE WHICH ENDANGERED SO MANY LIVES."
    LATER POLICE SAID THEY THINK OF NO MOTIVE FOR THE BOMBING.
