  • Description

Ten thousand Italian demonstrators gathered in Milan on Wednesday (28 May) in memory of a young left-wing student, Alberto Brasili, who was killed on Sunday while going to the cinema with his girl-friend.

The left-wing demonstrators were also commemorating the first anniversary of a bomb explosion at an anti-fascist demonstration in the nearby city of Brescia on 28 May 1974. Six people were killed and 94 injured in the blast.

The large crowd was addressed by student leaders.

Brasili's killer has since confessed to the crime. He, and five accomplices, were interrogates by the anti-terrorism s quad. Police said they are all members of a right-wing commando group.

The weekend killing also coincided with the publication of a report which started that most neo-fascists responsible for bomb attacks and beatings over the last five years in and around Rome have not been punished.
