One such is Mr Wilfred Lehmann, who has been assiduously at work on his violin for some time now at this flat in London's Maida Vale.
While Wilfred practices hard, his wife, Frances, herself a no mean flautist, watches over her husband's creature comforts.
Mr Lehmann is an old hand at competitions of this kind. In 1957, at Poznan, in Poland, he entered for the 3rd. International Wieniawski Competition for Violin, and received a Diploma of Honour.
Mr Lehmann practices with special music supplied by the authorities in Moscow.
