    Manchester City added the English Football Association Cup to the First Division Championship they won last season when they beat Leicester City one-nil at London's Wembley Stadium today (Saturday). It was Manchester's fourth Cup final victory while Leicester have now failed to win the Cup in four final appearances. Princess Anne represented the Royal Family at the match.

    A crowd of 100,000 paid GBP128,000 Sterling to watch the game, which was decided by a 23rd minute goal from inside forward Neil Young.

    Manchester, who were the favourites, wore red and played from left to right. They kept up a steady effort from the opening kick-off. Leicester's attempts to score were effectively beaten off by the Manchester team's defence.

    Mike Summerbee, Manchester's international forward, burst powerfully through in the 23rd minute before pulling a perfect pass back to Neil Young. who rammed a rising shot past Peter Shilton, Leicester's goalkeeper.

    After the match, Princess Anne presented the Football Association Cup to Manchester's 34-year-old Captain, full-back Tony Book.
