    Some 70 officers and men of the 1st Battalion Royal Welch Fusiliers arrived in Quebec City today for a week long visit guests of their Canadian allied Regiment "Le Royal 22e Regiment.

    The fusiliers were met at Ancienne Lorette airport by Colonel Bernard J. Guimond, CD, Commander Camp Valcartier representing His Excellency the Governor-General Georges P. Vanier colonel of "Le Royal 22e Regiment" unit allied with the Royal Welch Fusiliers and Lieutenant-Colonel Cyrille Falardeau, CD, Commanding Officer "Le Depot Royal 22e Regiment" at La Citadelle in Quebec.

    The highlights of their visit will be the traditional ceremonies of beating the retreat on thursday 14th June at 7.30 p.m. and the changing of the guard by the Royal Welch Fusiliers on Friday the 15th at 10.00 in the morning.

    The Royal Welch Fusiliers have been Allied with "Le Royal 22e Regiment" since 1927. Both regiments have as their Colonel-in-Chief Her Majesty the Queen,Lieutenant-Colonel RCH Barber, MC, Commanding officer of the Regiment will accompany the detachment during their stay in Quebec.
