    A SEVEN-MAN PARTY FROM MALAWI HAVE BEGUN A FOUR-WEEK STUDY TOUR OF BRITAIN. THEY FLEW INTO RAIN-SWEPT LONDON AIRPORT TODAY (MONDAY) FROM DAR-ES-SALAAM.

    LEADER OF THE PARTY IS MR. Q. Y. CHIBAMBO, PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY TO THE MALAWI MINISTRY OF WORKS. WITH HIM ARE SIX CHIEFS, INCLUDING THE CHIEF OF CHIEFS IN NORTHERN MALAWI, CHIEF M'MBELWA.

    THE TOUR, WHICH WILL TAKE THEM THE LENGTH AND BREADTH OF ENGLAND AND SCOTLAND, HAS BEEN ORGANISED BY THE BRITISH COUNCIL. THEY WILL VISIT FACTORIES, COLLEGES, UNIVERSITIES AND HISTORIC SIGHTS, STUDY THE HISTORY OF VARIOUS TOWNS, AND SEE HOW LOCAL GOVERNMENT WORKS IN CERTAIN CITIES.

    A HIGHLIGHT OF THE TOUR WILL BE NEXT WEEK WHEN THEY MEET A GRANDSON OF THE FAMOUS SCOTTISH EXPLORER AND MISSIONARY, DR. DAVID LIVINGSTONE, THE FIRST WHITE MAN TO SEE LAKE NYASA. THE MEETING PLACE IS MORE THAN APT -- BLANTYRE, THE SCOTTISH TOWN AFTER WHICH THE MALAWI CAPITAL WAS NAMED.
