Gabon has extended the services of its national airline. On Thursday (2 June), Air Gabon made its first international flight with a journey from the Gabonese capital, Libreville to Lome, the capital of Togo.
SYNOPSIS: An Air Gabon caravelle made the inauguration flight to Togo. Gabon's Ambassador to Lome, Jacques Mombo, was at the airport to welcome the aircraft when it arrived. The airline's Commercial Director, Jerome N'goua Bekale -- in the grey suit -- made the first international flight. The Gabonese airline decided to extend its services after Gabon withdrew from the multi-national Air Afrique company.
Shortly after the inaugural flight, Air Gabon took charge of a Boeing 747 jumbo jet to add to its fleet of aircraft. It can carry over 300 passengers and has a greater range than the caravelles. The jumbo will help Air Gabon to become a truly international airline.
