    ANOTHER DEMONSTRATION OUTSIDE A UNITED STATES EMBASSY - THIS TIME IN THE PHILIPPINES. MANILA STUDENTS NOT ONLY PROTESTED AGAINST AMERICAN ACTION IN VIETNAM, BUT ALSO ABOUT WASHINGTON'S ATTITUDE TOWARDS THE QUESTION OF MILITARY BASES IN THE PHILIPPINES AND THE RACIAL TROUBLES IN SELMA, ALABAMA.

    THE DEMONSTRATION, WHICH TOOK PLACE ON FRIDAY, WAS LED BY STUDENT LEADER RICARDO VALMONTE AND THE SECRETARY - GENERAL OF A LABOUR UNION, MR. IGNACIO LACSIMA. THE DEMONSTRATORS - ALL STUDENTS - CAME FROM DIFFERENT UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES IN MANILA.

    A MANIFESTO ISSUED BY THE RALLY ORGANISERS VIGOROUSLY CONDEMNED WHAT IT CALLED THE "CALLOUS" ANTI-FILIPINO APPROACH OF THE UNITED STATES TOWARDS FOREIGN MILITARY BASES AND PROBLEMS ARISING FROM THEM.

    SPEAKERS DENOUNCED ALLEGED MOVES BY THE UNITED STATES TO ESCALATE THE VIETNAM WAR TO THE POINT OF INVOLVING THE GREATER REGION OF SOUTH-EAST ASIA, PARTICULARLY THE PHILIPPINES.
