  • Description

Airline services were restored by B.O.A.C. at London Airport October 21.

B.O.A.C's first passenger plane to fly in was a Britannia - after the ten-day strike which cost the Corporation GBP1million and threatened to keep the Comet off the Atlantic daily run.

Soon afterwards two Comets flow in from Shannon. They were on special training flights for the Atlantic service when the strike began. The moment the strike ended they flow to Shannon to resume crew training.

Engineers and maintenance men worked overtime to get outgoing planes ready. Hangars hummed with activity as the morning shift went on duty.
