    At the United Nations General Assembly in New York, the Swaziland delegate, spoke of the colonial era and blamed the French for trying to water down African nationality. He said that the Portuguese had tried to do the same.

    The delegate said they failed because "the winds of change know no colour or colonial territory".

    He referred to apartheid as a deplorable practice and said it accounted for untold misery in South Africa.
