    Rumania's Ilie Nastasie beat his Yugoslav opponent Nikki Pilic in straight sets in Paris on Tuesday (5 June), to win the men's singles final of the French international Championships. The scoring was 6-3, 6-3, 6-0. The win represented a triumph for the Rumanian player, who had beaten the American, Tom Gorman, into the final.

    Nikki Pilic won his way to his first-ever final in a major tournament, by basting top Italian player, Adrione Penatta, G-4, G-3, 6-2.

    Nastase had little difficulty in beating Pilic, however, in their confrontation. He had control of the play most of the time, and finished the match by winning seven games on the tret. The whale final lasted less than an hour-and-a-half.
