    Ten-years-old from nine nations were among youthful competitors showing international form in the Sixth Asian Age Group Swimming Championships in the South Korea capital of Seoul on Saturday (26th July), the opening day of the three-day competition.

    The championship was divided into four groups -- Group One from 15 to 17 years, group Two from 13 to 14, Group Three from 11 to 12 and Group Four up to 10.

    One Group Four championship record was broken on Saturday when a young Korean entrant swan the boy's 100m Butterfly in 11.25 seconds.

    Four other records were broken the same day in other Groups: Group One Philippines competitor Edwin Borja knocked 18.45 seconds off his own Boys 1,500m Freestyle record made in the previous championships held in Manila last year; Thailand took two new records in Group Four girls 50m breaststroke and Group Three girl's 400m freestyle, and Israeli Group One boy Ron Kehr??? rewrote the Group One 100m breaststroke record.

    By the end of the day's 20 events, Japan had collected four golds, The Philippines three, together with Malaysia, and the Republic of China, Korea, Israel, Singapore and Thailand two each. Only Indonesia gained no golds during the day.
