An impressive collection of Bantu copper relief sculpture was opened in the city of Lubumbashi in the Congo democratic Republic earlier this month. The Governor of Kivu Province, Mr Henri Takizala was present at the opening. The Artist, Mr Kalumba, presented his fine cooper compositions to Congolese authorities and art collectors.
SYNOPSIS: A unique and interesting art exhibit was opened recently in Congo-Kinshasa's Kivu Province. Regional Governor, Mr Henri Takisala formally opened the exhibition.
The Governor and an official delegation toured the galleries that featured impressive works of copper relief sculpture depicting various aspects of African life.
The works of art were presented to Congolese officials and art collectors by the artist. Mr Kalumba. The pieces of sculpture are modern working of art that have been inspired by the Bantu culture. Mr Kalumba is considered a master in art of copper sculpture.
