  • Description

Miss Bernadette Devlin, the 21-year-old University student who is now the M.P. for Mid-Ulster, has warned that the Northern Ireland rioting might be the start of civil war. British troops are moving in to take a hand in the political troubles.

The troops are part of the 3,000 permanently based in Northern Ireland. They will guard key points, such as telephone exchanges, water facilities and other public works. This move will free more police to cope with the riots.

Miss Devlin said that whether or not there was civil war depended on those within the civil rights movements. She said she would be prepared to give her life to bring justice to Northern Ireland.
