A new Martini Formula One car has gone on show in France. The car, the Martini Formula One, was unveiled on Tuesday at Grenoble.
SYNOPSIS: The car was built by Italian-born French racing car manufacturer Tico Martini. He's the major French racing car builder. The Formula One car is the latest in a long line of racing cars since Martini first stated building them back in 1967.
The car carries a heavy fuel-load...190 litres...and it's got double callipers on the front wheels. The rear wheels have the normal single callipers. Already, 256 Martini-built racing cars have taken part in competition...and they've taken 190 victories. The car's been built around a Ford-Cosworth engine; it can be fitted with either a five or six-speed gear-box, depending on the racing circuit, and it's been specifically designed for French racing driver, Rene Arnoux. Arnoux, who's 30, is a former European Formula Two champion.
