    Background: A high-level Mexican sporting delegation travelled to Cuba recently for talks with their Cuban counterparts about further sporting contact between Cuba and the rest of Latin America and the world.

    The Mexican delegation was led by the President of the Olympic Committee Mario Vazquez Rana and during the visit he and his delegation discussed the question of sporting links with the Cuban Olympic Committee and sports officials.

    The two groups signed a bilateral agreement of collaboration in the presence of the Mexican Ambassador to Cuba, Edmundo Flores. The signatories on the Cuban side were the President of the Cuban Olympic Committee Manuel Gonzalez Guerra and the Director of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER), Jorge Garcia Bango. On the Mexican side the Olympic Committee President and Professor Jose Garcia Cervantes signed the document.
