Background: Ghana will launch a nationwide electoral drive on May 14 to ensure that all citizens who have reached the voting age of 21 since the last electoral rolls were drawn up are on the new register.

The drive was announced on Friday (April 2) by the speaker of the country's parliament, Mr. Nii Amaa Ollennu, who explained it was also aimed at ensuring that any qualified voters who failed to register last time would be able to vote in future elections.
