Background: The nation today celebrated its 45th Sam I1 Day Independent uprising against Japanese rule in 1919 which killed thousands of Korean citizens. In ceremony held at the Capitol Plaza at 10 am with attendant of government and foreign dignitaries, be saved families of those who died for the cause of national independence under Japanese rule.
The president Park Chung Hee, who appeared front of public in the first time since the election last November made celebrating speech and said that Japan must stop acting as they are now and agree on the reasonable term on the current talk between Korea and Japan normalization.
The one hour long ceremony was followed by students march on the streets.
