    FILM SHOT MAY 21, SHOWS SCENES AT THE AIRPORT, NOW TAKEN OVER BY THE FRENCH AIR FORCE. ALREADY PLANES ARE CARRYING PASSENGERS AT MAXIMUM CAPACITY. THE PEAK OF 1,400 PASSENGERS IN A DAY HAS BEEN REACHED.

    FORTY-THOUSAND EUROPEANS HAVE APPLIED FOR EXIT PERMITS, DESPITE ORDERS OF THE O.A.S. (SECRET ARMY ORGANIZATION) TO REMAIN IN ALGERIAN. THE MOVEMENT TO FRANCE IS EXPECTED TO BUILD UP BEFORE THE SELF-DETERMINATION REFERENDUM IN JULY 1.

    M. JOXE, MINISTER FOR ALGERIAN AFFAIRS, HAS BEEN SHOWN THE SITUATION AT THE AIRPORT, WHEN HE RECENTLY FLEW OVER MAISON BLANCHE BY HELICOPTER. THE ALGERIAN HIGH COMMISSION HAS ORDERED MORE LANES TO BE MADE AVAILABLE TO SPEED UP THE MOVEMENT TO FRANCE.
